Are you thinking about a career in information technology but don't know how to get started?
Hello, and welcome to the exciting world of information technology. I put this book together for beginners looking to get started in a career with IT. Many beginning students are unfamiliar with the field and are not sure what type of job and career path they would like to pursue.
Since the IT business is constantly changing, the jobs, requirements, and skills for those positions are rapidly changing as well. In this book, I will present to you a survey of different jobs that are in demand, and some data that I found about those positions. I also included a chapter about what it is like to work day-to-day in the IT business. This is based on my thirty-plus year career in this field while working in many different positions.
I hope, by the end of this book, you will have a good idea about the different opportunities in today’s IT business, and if it is something you would like to pursue further.

I have worked in software development and IT operations for 30 years as a Software Developer, Software Development Manager, Software Architect and Operations Manager. For the last ten years, I have taught evening courses on various IT related subjects at several local universities in the central Ohio area.
